I had my 2005 E90 325i for over 30,000 miles and 3 years - no real issues, burned a bit of oil but only asked for a service every 16000 miles, could frequently do over 46mpg on a run, 29mpg combined. Had a much different character to the 4 cylinder variants. Great engine, great car, no regrets.
