It was the only 0w-20 oil that the Exchange stocked at the time (not sure if they have others now or not) over here in Germany. It was either I buy that, or I go off base and spend 15 Euro per quart of some 0w-20 oil brand I've never heard of. I've used and continue to use Mobil 1 in various vehicles for many many years but the simple fact of the matter is that they recently changed their formula....
Go ahead and put your new BMW into the selector and tell me which oil they suggest for new bimmers?

I cant afford to blow a motor and have a warranty claim denied by BMW due to non spec oil being used and I suspect most people are in a similar position
