I don't disagree with that, and the Braun shaver in the Porsche is the subject of much ridicule. I've frankly never shifted a car with an automatic trans because, well it's automatic. My MB has paddle shifters but on a crossover that just seems a bit ridiculous to me. I'll likely never have anything of a sports car nature that has paddle shifters, but who knows. I like driving a stick, it gives me pleasure. I suspect that I could get the VW manual around the track just as quick as I could get it around the track with paddles shifting and it would be less enjoyable for me.
