That's an unusual statement to make. There is no such thing as that - no one did charity by purchasing something they didn't like in order to support an ideology. A product with certain characteristics found willing buyers. The company emulated the dna that made the product attractive and released variations of the product. This continued pattern when repeated over an amount of time led to a successful brand.
