lol I know, it's a bit odd but it's a deal I made with my dealer..
Thing is, my current car, the X5, is a lease and normally the lease would end April 7. The new car is scheduled to be at the dealership April 11 (my CA expects it to arrive a few days early). Just a few days in between, not too much of a problem but I do need a car for those days. The registration of the X5 ended today and a new registration would have cost me 453 dollar so I was planning to bring it back today but then I would have to rent a car for the remaining days and that wouldn't be cheap either, so I asked my CA for a solution and kind of let him know I was not happy at all that I had to wait so long for the new car while people on the mainland are already driving in theirs while they were on the same boat as I was.
Now, as a courtesy, my CA arranged with his manager that they will reimburse me the 453 dollar and that I can keep the X5 until my new 3 arrives in Hawaii, even after April 7 if needed. However, as counterpart from my side they asked me to finalize the paperwork (we did this yesterday and I paid yesterday, not when I actually ordered the car) so, this way, it is basically a win-win for everybody
