What exactly are you trying to do?
Audio? Make sure you are selecting the correct source. Go to CD, move the iDrive controller left and select the correct source (aux).
FYI, there are issues with using BMW Apps with iphone
Your best bet is to connect via Bluetooth you can stream audio wirelessly that way.
