That muck is the lack of oil temperature being hot enough to bake the moisture out of the oil.

There is a reason BMW opens the thermostat at 235...because after 212 water will boil off. Short distance driving without letting the oil warm up will cause it to get milky under the cap.

Let the car get hot more often, beat on it some to get the oil temps up and change it more frequently. If you dont drive the car much at all change the oil every 3-5k miles, because moisture in the oil will degrade its qualities quickly.

I have seen that so many times on E46s its not surprising at all lol..
