I think that may be a false sense of security. RFT's should not be driven at high speeds if they are low, and expecially not if you have a blowout. A blowout at high speeds is not safe with any tire, as the rolling resistance will cause the car to swerve suddenly. Make sure to have DSC on at all times.

RFT's are meant to be driven at a max speed of 50 Mph for up to 50 miles only to get you to the nearest tire shop or dealer for a replacement. A $50 AAA or CAA membership is probably a better deal, then paying the uplift for RFT's.
