I messed with the settings and went for a drive. It's picking up both front and rear laser signals. Options are for me to return and get the R7 or keep it, turn off laser or tape gesture controls and wait for Valentine come out with an update. I'm leaning towards just returning and getting the R7, but I will email Valentine first and ask them. Will update the thread with the response. |
Turn off your gesture control in the settings and see if it is still faulting laser alerts. I just sent mine back for laser faults and I turned off my gesture control and all my other assistance systems to try and narrow it down. I hooked up my V1 Gen2 to a 12v jumper in my house and laser was still occasionally going off. I have read that gesture control can affect it but try it with it off and see. |
Tried turning gesture controls off, but that did not work. Only way to stop the false alarms is to turn off laser entirely because it is triggering both front and rear. Valentine is closed for COVID, and has not responded to my email. I'm probably just going to return the unit and get the R7. I know picking up laser for somebody else to save me is unlikely, but I would prefer to have it rather than not. It doesn't make sense to put tape on the car or spend $500 on a detector that you can't use all the features of when there is another one on the market that has potentially better range and all the features work. |
The office is closed. You have to email marchgen2@valentine1.com. They will send you a shipping label. I just sent mine out yesterday. I believe my unit was faulting for laser when it shouldn't be.
