Again everybody have different car spec (Xi or maybe different country version,),so if the 12mm spacer is flush,then
it is 100% safe.
I would rather believe my own eye then what other people think or said but is not proven. right?
So if my (in this case) your eye,surely see and (fell with your hand) that it is flush with no gap,then it is fine.

I am sure your car would look even better with those 12mm spacer

Oh,one thing is please do not forget to get 12mm longer bolts... (or do your spacer come with the bolts?)
If they do come,please measure it and make sure they are at least 10mm or more longer then your original OEM bolts.
