It's more gonna be a decision based on the sound that you want out of the car rather than increasing performance from what I have read from others.
Personally, I want a louder exhaust, but want to stay under warranty as you have said. So once money frees up, I'll probably go for the performance exhaust.

I think the performance exhaust that I got was a great baragin, then again I got mine for $50, so its really up to you.
