Technically, this car does not have Surround View, just Top View. Surround View referrs to what you can get only on the new X5 and LCI X3 where they use the rear view camera, top view cameras, and a new front view camera to give you a top-down view all the way around the car. Top View just uses the rear view camera and top view cameras.
That said...if you get Top View you get Side view which includes the camera's on either side of the front bumper like sideways. I wish it had the newer Surround View with the front center camera as it would be helpful to see the curb/parking block in front but the side view cameras help with this as well. Truthfully you don't need any of it but its a cool and useful feature nonetheless.
