I am presuming by "breaking in" you mean letting the OBC recognize the change and adjust fuel air rates, ignition timing etc, this will maximize HP.

I am not sure but I think this can me helped by disconnecting the battery to rest the previous learning by the OBC. As I say I am not 100% sure about this bit.
