I'm involved with installing new springs now, and the front was straight forward. Slightly more difficult than the F10 because of the driven front wheels. But the rear is a definite pain in the butt! The little nit picky fasteners and wiring that have to be released and moved before you can remove the sound deadening from the package tray is tedious. I have the time so don't mind so much, but for those of you still working, pay to have it done. Those figures quoted seem very worth it to me, even to the $800 range. I am doing a HAS system which is a little more work, but still those charges seem reasonable. I don't think it's a matter of knowing what you're doing, it isn't difficult. It's that they take the time to reroute and reattach everything in the way it should be. A shop that pays attention to detail would be preferred.
