The 4 race pads are great, they just need a ton of heat to work properly. On the street I sound like a 80s school bus. I don't mind giving up some time, and fade obviously would like to be kept to a minimal, however if it is predictable I can adapt.

I had a set of the R4-S pads. They're good. I moved on to EBC Yellowstuffs -- they're better. Neither of them are particularly loud, and they stop well/have very high fade resistance given their reasonable street manners.
