I should have prefaced the conversation with my question comes from a purely performance perspective, what is your opinion. They're both sleepers capable of embarrassing most performance cars, and they both have multiple functional use-cases.
Understanding the hypocrisy of being a current F90 M5 owner, I don't care too much about the brand perception. Lightly modded trackhawks will eat an M5 alive, including most highly modded M5s in a quarter mile. Heavily modded trackhawks can get mid 9's which correct me if I'm wrong hasn't happened in an M5. That's only in a straight line, add one turn and the whole dynamic changes, need to pick up any object larger than a golf bag and the dynamic changes again.

I used to have a black gen V Viper, I loved it. My friends used to rag on me and call it a Redneck Ferrari, I ended up replacing it with an F12 which had nothing to do with the ribbing, I just love the F12. I've never let a brand name, make or break, my desire for an auto.
