As such - on the occasions that the car wouldn't start - the car wouldn't start cos it thought I didn't have my foot on the brake pedal. The dealer got the car's computer to do a full reset of itself. As such, the dealer thinks that the car will likely now be OK. If, however, the problem re-emerges, then further intervention will be required.

Just had the same problem (2nd time) Brake pedal wouldn't move auto gear selector also stuck in park, ignition on, But start button wouldn't turn it over rocked the brake pedal up and down (as much as I could a couple of times) and started first time will try to get it booked in to be looked at. Like you mike (335d coupe) I also had just had it washed Friday and 1st time (Sunday) since I've been in it (so wondered if it was water getting into the sensor or something)
Have you had any problems since going back to the dealers Mike?
