I just went through buying a M3. Agree with the previous post that deals are harder to come by compared to M4 because there are so many fewer M3's (I called every BMW dealer on the east coast down to DC). However, if you are leasing, the lease terms are much better on the M3, so it typically makes sense to go with the M3 for a lease.
I had a very good experience at South Shore BMW, which is relatively new dealership. They had several M4's on their lot when I was there last month. However, bottom line is that it pays to comparison shop at least at all the local dealers - if you have endless time, you can start expanding to other Northeast dealers but I don't think you will save a huge amount by doing that - I only did it because I needed a M3 off the lot and they were hard to come by.
