I really, really like the Rogue shifter on my E36 M3, but I have never tried the UUC version. I know 'notchy' is not supposed to be a good thing, but that's actually what I like about the Rogue shifter. It takes a good firm push or pull to go from gear to gear, and the stick very precisely locks into place with a 'click' as you move from one shift position to the next. The throw is tight enough you don't much need to work your forearm... I can grab the stick near the bottom of the shift knob and work through all the gears just flexing my wrist and fingers.
