If it is fixed with Betalink, forget it.
My factory lip was tape and vI ery carefully removed it and didn't cause any damage whatsoever, but there are some 'score' marks underneath - in fact they are underneath the clear coat and although I have since machine polished, they are still there. Only I can see them, but they are there.
As BMW know a lip is going there, I guess it is an area which does not have to be perfect?
I'd try to establish how it is fixed on by asking the dealer to find out, or by heating the corner and passing fishing line. If it cuts through easily, it's tape. Refix isn't difficult on the edge.
