Update as to what the actual damage was. Basically it was just damage of the rear end of the body, no technical damage to the axle or any other technical parts.
When pulling the car off the Autobahn they damaged the front bumper and the steering.
Overall the damage was so expensive that it didn't make sense to repair it. If BMW had repaired the car they would probably have ordered a new body and reassembled the car on a new body.
Anyway, it is gone now and I have ordered the exact clone of this car with CCB. It will even have the same license plate.
Another three months wait….
