Holy shit, that is bone dry man, that might actually be the cause of your SES light, I would fill it up with distilled (again NOT tap water or any type of mineral water) if you have any on hand in your house before even going to get any fluid.
BMW actually recommends only using their fluid but distilled or generic fluid from autozone works to correct just a little low level. But since you have to add so much I might go ahead and use the BMW fluid.
