A roll test would truly show which one is faster, since you eliminate the launch and even give the caddy a chance with its RWD platform.

Racing says - in most cases - that trap speed is the best indicator of who will pull top end. If it was a very top end roll - maybe the power dynamics may shift enough to make the trap speed less relevent - but in general it is a pretty steady rule. So withe BMW having a good couple of MPH over the CTSV - it would be closer than in the dig - but still a loss for the Caddy.
