I'll assume you're using 4WD Sport M DSC OFF for VIR? I wonder how much correction the car still makes with the brakes when you have it more sideways than the system is programmed for? Less than MDM, but it still says "Oversteering possible". With 2WD M DSC OFF it warns us "Unlimited oversteering possible".

I'm thinking perhaps the programming is abusing your rear brakes to keep the car's attitude on the track in line with street parameters. Have you tried 2WD with DSC off? I wouldn't think it'd be faster, but it'd be interesting to see if the rear brake wear would drop.
I ran dsc in sport plus for my first two sets of pads. I now run it "off" in m-sport now.

It did lots of correction while it was on. Much less with it "off" but I THINK I still feel something in a wet induced slide through hog pen.

But these pads are tiny, and not suited for track without a proper track compound.
