Bottom line, they chose a loaded up car and then skewered it on price. The real difference with the Caddy is 20k. The BMW rules the objective criteria and they nailed it on subjective.
The Audi was a soft car and they loved that. The Caddy was a harsh car and they loved that. Go figure.

BMW sends them the car, C/D doesn't get to pick and choose their spec unless its a Long-Term test model, they request a car, and the manufacturer chooses whether to send a car or not, and whichever one they have in their press fleet. As for the Cadi, being "harsh" it actually scored the best in the ride department, and has been praised for being very livable, mainly due to the fantastic Magneride dampers and much improved traction.
