Of course on the extended warranty the dealer is essentially just a broker for a 3rd party insurer that underwrites the warranty and reimburses the dealer for any repairs. Where with the ext maint, BMW is footing the bill
it's probably a marketing thing. no one buy an M car for any other reason that just you want to have one. so, why bother give you something for free if you are willing to pay for it any way. Or, they think if we can afford the M, we can afford the oil and filters.
