Thanks... You understand. If I never had the AMG, I suppose the M550 would have been nice. But, it just is devoid of that sport connection I am used to. The throttle is way slower and has a built in dull feel as opposed to the M and the AMG. Maybe a throttle mapper device would help. Since I can afford the difference the M5 is a no brainer if I want that connection.

I had a fully loaded 540i that I inherited for a year and was bored driving it. Its capable but lacking in feeling, too much body roll, numb steering, and just couldn't compare to its earlier predecessors in my opinion.
