IMO it is difficult to get a clear answer because it is difficult to do an apples to apples comparison. The CCB rotors options are usually larger front and rear compared to their metal counterparts and so are the calipers. When 10 to 13lb per corner are quoted as savings, is it for similarly sized discs with the same calipers or is it truly comparing one option against the other?
As Swamp2 mentions, a reduction in rotating mass has even more impact. However, if some of that mass is located farther from the center of rotation, part of the benefit gets negated.
I am eager to find out more on this topic for the F8X to make my decision.
