This sounds like somebody sold you a car that was "promised" to somebody else for MORE money. IE One salesman sold you the car, another one who may have been on vacation and had another person lined up to buy the car for a higher price. Now they are stating they "were not authorized" to sell the car, cause they are trying to get it back from you, to make the higher price sale and get you to buy a different M5. The fact that BMWFS says the problem is on the dealers end makes me think this is the scenario.

wouldn't surprise me at all. had this happen with a house years ago. can't imagine some car salesmen would be any different than some real estate agents.
