Loads of people can afford one, however they dont offer IMO what the E46 did back in 2001.

Concur. Would still love one in theory, but if I had the cash I'm not sure -I think the fuel figures would kill it if I actually had to run the thing. If I was loaded it wouldn't matter but then would I be looking to bigger things anyway? Lop £10K off and it would sell like crazy IMHO.
+ 1 to the above, trouble is if you lop 10K off you're in 335D/I money and that would probably kill the M3 stone dead.

In white, and with a drop it looks stunning, awesome performance but with silly MPG figures which is only to be expected given the engine.

In saying all the above,I think the economy could well be a factor, mortgage lending in Oct was the lowest on record and the used car market is on it's knees.Housebuilders are recording lower profits and are slowing down or mothballing new projects. If ever there was a sign that we could be in for a rough ride, take a look at Housebuilder share prices.

If I could afford the running costs and purchase price of the M3,I would probably buy something else.
