I have now owned my G05 X5 for 6 weeks. I traded from a 2016 F15. Car drives great. Car looks great. There have been several issues which I will detail in different posts.

This post deals with the finicky iDrive 7.0 system. I frequently have to reset the iDrive for the following reasons:

1. Haptic feedback buttons (MEDIA, HOME, MAP, COMM, APPS, NAV, OPTION, and BACK) become unresponsive. I could wait it out for about 10 minutes and function returns. If I old on/off for 30 seconds and reset, the functionality returns. Also the feedback varies in intensity from time to time. When these buttons fail to function, the driving mode buttons (COMFORT SPORT etc) still do work

2. The BC on the turn signal stalk will not cycle through the different screens on the tachometer. This function fails and all I see is the driving mode and the gear. Once I reset iDrive, all 6 screens function again.

3. The car fails to recognize my phone despite trying to reconnect in manage mobile device screens. This happens frequently when switching between iDrive and Apple Car Play for media playback, however, it can happen randomly when starting the car.

4. Weather and news apps on home page tiles fail to load. I can go to the app page (press globe button) and load weather or news apps, however they do not show up on the tiles. Once iDrive is reset, the appear once again.
