My BMW dealer here in Portland, OR was able to get me a set of stock size (20") Pirelli P Zero Winter tires. These are supposed to be high performance tires with snow capability, i.e., higher performance than the Sottozeros. They are however very expensive at $400+ per tire. Sadly, Tire Rack does not list the P Zero Winter in our sizes.
I have not installed them yet as it is still quite warm here in Portland, but I expect to change over around Thanksgiving.
