Follow up.

Resetting the timer involves pushing the start button three times fast without putting your foot on the break. Then push the button on the left of the dash and holding it to enter the diagnostic mode. Then push and hold to initiate reset and push and hold to actually do the rest.

I put 9.5 liters in and the level shows at the top line. I will check again tomorrow.
