Irv, I totally agree that the 1er looks very much like the E46. Maybe your photo comparisons will show people the similarities easier.
Like you, I had an E46, mine was a 330Ci. I still own a '75 2002, so I am very familiar with both of these cars. That's why my mind is boggled by the comparison of the 1er to the 2002.
Anyway, I loved my E46, but I was filling it up almost three times a week. The 1er looks to be more efficient and more powerful, while updating the E46 good looks. that's why I like it.
