M5 is great in the snow with the only handicap being the ground clearance. Tough getting the timing right on tire changeover with the large swings in temps in New England, I typically swap in late November/early December and early April but inevitably you'll get some 60-70 degree days where you shouldn't be on snow tires.
I'm in Boston also and was questioning getting winters for when I take delivery end of feb or just riding it out for a month or so and then transition in November. What do you think?
I am also just Northwest of Boston. Sottozero 285 square set up. If I were taking delivery late Feb I would swap over to the winter tires. It has a lot to do with low temps as well.
