I am not sure what they prove by testing the oil from the drum and drained from the engine other than unused oil is cleaner than oil drained from an engine which should be obvious.
Yeah I mean I have trouble believing this is critical one way or the other but the debate is interesting.

I have to believe after I drain the old oil there is still lubrication for the additional couple seconds it takes to recirculate the new oil, whether or not the filter is prefilled. But maybe not what do I know.
