I've got 110k miles on the beige leatherette on my car. Once I wiped off some hot sauce with a wet rag off of one seat. Another time I used a wet rag to clean off a lot of dust from running with the windows down on a dirt road at high speeds. When I vacuum the carpets, I'll hit the seats quickly to take off any junk floating on them. Other than that, I've mostly ignored them.

At 90k, the seat heater went out I replaced the entire lower seat cover along with the seat heater. The beige was a perfect match to the rest of the interior. You cannot tell what was brand new, and what I've abused for 110k miles.

I can't say that BMW's leatherette will perform the same. But I'm very hard pressed to advise using anything other than a little water on a damp rag to clean your seats based upon my experience.

I definitely would NOT use any leather care products at all. They are designed to absorb natural oils back into the leather. Leatherette doesn't need it, and won't absorb it.
