I would feel totally inadequate going with tire size narrower than stock, unless we are talking about winter tires

My E30 had 285/30-18 Hoosiers all around




Seriously though, the objective was to get more traction, and suspension mods were not available to me during ED trip, so the only way to achieve the goal was with stickier tires.
Additionally, increased width and OD both help with traction
