Wind noise was a bit much. My 29er is very loud. Road bike is much better. With the moonroof shade closed, can't hear it. Not the case with the MTB.
I got about 19-20 mpg with the MTB on the top, but was going into some significant head winds. I didn't test the range of the tank, but easily could get 370 miles or so with the bike and box up top.
