Most parts are made for their intended use case with a little extra wiggle room on top. Designing a part that can handle up to 1000 is likely not to be as efficient if its only going to be used for 600 hp. You also have emissions stuff added in there yadda yadda.

Guess the real question is would it get a better time from adding intakes? Stock intakes flow every well but could they flow better? Yes of course.
