My steel brakes have been noise free for the 2500 miles I've put on the car so far. However, they are much more sensitive than the brakes on my previous F10, which didn't screech either.
I do have a problem with them rusting to the rotor after washing. I could avoid that on the F10 with a few back and forths while applying the brakes, before leaving it after a wash. But anything short of driving a couple miles on the M5, and I have to hear them break loose from the rotors after it sits overnight.
