My experience performing motor oil change with less than 10K.............
My first oil change was at 5K miles on my own. The oil level capacity is not listed in the manual; so, I checked with three BMW dealers and got three different answers as to the amount of motor oil needed with the filter. The answers were...7qts., 7.5qts., and 8qts.
So, I put in 7qts. just to be on the safe side. I did the iDrive oil level computation and it showed "maximum". I also checked the oil level using the dipstick and it read higher than maximum. I then called the service manager who agreed to look into my concerns. During the initial call, he said there is no dipstick. An hour later he called back and told me there was an oil dipstick and the refill is 5.5qts. He also provided me with the pic from the BMW online tech manual listing the oil capacity for my car. Put it in, take it out, what a pain.
I'm hopeful my future experiences will be better.
