OK, set the guidance to take you somewhere.

Display the Nav map in the LH screen. When you approach a corner, the RH window will show a white arrow on a green background and show the distance to the turn.

Now, use the LH screen for something else like the radio for example. Put the map in the RH screen. Set guidance and head for a turn. When you approach the turn, the map should disappear and the turn arrow should 'pop up' in its place.
