save yourself the dollars and time and use bimmercode. his app lets you do VIM at any speed and anything else possible for the platform. most popular options are just a swipe of the finger bit if you want to code something unique or something new just use expert mode to easily access the module and change the values.
what's even better is the ease of use for non tech types and how you always have access to change or revert back to another instance. going to the dealer and they reflashed your ecu and lost all your coding? it's not an additional fee or session, just plug in like first time and use your back up. use on all your bmws for the one fee. also the developer is a member and very prompt with troubleshooting and support while constantly providing updates and new coding features as updates to the app. can't go wrong!
you download the app on your phone. then use a ~$25 OBD module which creates a wifi network you connect to on your phone and code via wifi connection through the app. so easy which is why so popular with folks not tech savvy and developer is always available which is great to help.
