It's not so ridiculous when you consider they will be needlessly adding complexity and weight with batteries probably to the tune of 400-500 lbs more than necessary over the current gen. So ya sounds like alot and it is until you realize the added performance benefit from that extra power wont be all that much because the weight sucks most of it up.

Which leads to me to the next thouight/question which is why? Why bother adding that added weight with batteries when there are other easier ways to make more power? What's the point? The heavier the car the sloppier it feels and the more power you have to add to accommodate the extra weight. I don't get it. Hybrid for full economy reasons I get sort of. But for extra performance in a high performance car? Just why?
