My windshield on my 2019 M5 cracked and need a new one. There is no impact point or any proof of a rock chip that one usually sees but bmw is saying that windshields do not crack on their own so I must have hit something

For those of you who have replaced windshields how is the insurance work or should I just eat it and pay the $3k for a new bmw windshield. I have the HUD.
