I thought who in their right mind would pick a base M3/M4 over one with the competition pack - M3/M4 w/ ZCP it's just a better car. Then I drove one back/back when dealerships had their M event. The M3/M4 with competition pack was overly stiff for daily driving and just did not make sense if you do not plan on attending one track day..

As a 60000 mile 2015 f82 M4 owner with now 35000 miles on a 2017 M4 Comp my opinion is greatly different from your experience just from driving at a dealer event.
I actually like the ride quality of my M4 Comp over my 'regular' M4. And I routinely make nonstop gas tank 300+ mile/bladder runs wishing to make it longer between stops. Obviously the ride isn't beating me up.
