#2 for sure. You will get the look and protection at the same time. I would also suggest adding a ceramic coating/graphene coating to the top layer of the ppf. It will give it a very nice satin complex matte look if that's what you're looking for. Will also make it a lot easier to maintain and keep the car clean.
