F10 M5 had this issue, there are tons of posts about it. In the end, I think the only real solution was hard braking at higher speed (coming off a highway, for example). Then it would go away for a while.
I experienced it with my F10, terrible noise. Then I switched to an F80 M3, only to have the dreaded "rock stuck between the brake disc and dust cover" issue.

My had steel as did my M6 GC CP never had any noise doing what I said.
PS) I have never bedded brakes in, just drove the car and let them settle. This includes the CCB and do they stop.

Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones. Tons of threads from M5 / M6 owners about the issue. BMW even issued a TSB about it.
It bothered some, while others just chose to live with it.
