Come on guys, if you look at the available space compared to the M3/4 you'll see that is a lot less and there is no room for a manufacturer to provide wider tires. That is not the same as it won't fit for most people but as I've said in a couple of threads BMW has to account for all conditions and that includes snow chains and other stuff.
